Fundamentals and Basics

The Fundamentals and Basics category is a Service Information Type (SIT) containing generalized information on vehicle systems and component operations that are not vehicle specific. They provide basic information for understanding how a component works within a vehicle.

To find the Fundamentals and Basics service information type:

Select a system from the Vehicle Component list, located on the Top-Vehicle page.

Result: A page listing the available (SITs) and components to your selected system is displayed. Available SITs are listed on the left. Subsystems and components are listed on the right.

Select the Fundamentals and Basics icon on the left.

Result: A list of available Fundamentals and Basics article topics will display.

Select a topic to view the article.

Note: Available information varies according to the selected vehicle.
