Use a stopwatch to measure the time lag between the gearshift lever positions.
Connect 88 Digital Multimeter as a tachometer.
Turn key ON, engine running (KOER) .
Depress brake pedal and shift the gearshift lever from N to (D) range.
Measure and record the elapsed time between the shifting of the gearshift lever and the feel of the shift engagement.
Idle the engine in N range for 1 minute to allow the ATF to cool.
Depress the brake pedal and shift the gearshift lever from N to R range.
Measure and record the elapsed time between the shifting of the gearshift lever and the feel of the shift engagement.
Repeat the Operational Test OTD - time lag test three times and average the results. Time lag should be approximately between 0.9 - 1.1 seconds . Refer to Time Lag Evaluation Chart.
