1. Remove the speakers in the rear parcel shelf area.

^ Refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM).

^ Use a suitable covering on the areas of the interior where work is being performed.

^ Store the rear parcel shelf finisher in a clean area.

2. Inspect the finisher for broken or missing clips and other fastening hardware.

^ Repair / replace as needed.

3. Inspect the finisher support for loose bolts, stuck-on clips, etc. (see Figure 1).

Hybrid vehicles: Ensure the HV battery air intake finisher/tabs are OK/Not broken.

^ Repair as needed.

4. Apply 15 mm x 20 mm pieces of flocking tape (see PARTS INFORMATION) over each of the speaker screw holes. See Figure 2.

^ Install the long end of the flocking tape over the edge and into the speaker mounting hole.

^ This flocking tape can be found in the latest Squeak & Rattle Kit (P/N J-50397).

5. Poke a hole through each piece of flocking tape where the speaker screw fits (see Figure 2).

7. Turn on the audio system: Verify the buzz / rattle / vibration is resolved.
