Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Refer to See: Battery\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement\Coupe (Coupe models) or See: Battery\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement\Sedan (Sedan models).
  2. Partially drain engine coolant. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Cooling System\Coolant\Service and Repair.
  3. Remove engine room cover.
  4. Remove RH front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to See: Maintenance\Wheels and Tires\Service and Repair.
  5. Remove engine side undercover using power tools.
  6. Remove air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Engine\Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose\Service and Repair.
  7. Remove battery tray. Refer to See: Battery\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement\Coupe (Coupe models) or See: Battery\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement\Sedan (Sedan models).
  8. Remove cooling fan assembly. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Cooling System\Radiator Cooling Fan\Service and Repair.
  9. Evacuate A/C system. Refer to See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Service and Repair\Refrigeration System.
  10. Remove drive belt. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Engine\Drive Belt\Service and Repair.
  11. Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Compressor HVAC\Service and Repair.
  12. Remove idler pulley.
  13. Remove A/C idler pulley.
  14. Disconnect oil pressure switch.
  15. Disconnect the generator harness connectors.
  16. Remove the generator bolt and nuts, using power tools.
  17. Slide the generator out and remove.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
Be sure to tighten "B" terminal nut carefully.
