A/C SYSTEM O-RING SEAL LEAKS

APPLIED VEHICLES:
All Nissan vehicles with A/C system

IF YOU CONFIRM

A refrigerant leak at a refrigerant pipe/hose joint location,

NOTE:
Follow the leak detection information in the Service Manual to determine the source of refrigerant leaks.

ACTIONS

NOTE:
The O-ring seal is the most common cause of a refrigerant leak at an A/C joint.

1. Inspect the metal surfaces of the pipe/hose joint for damage or contamination.

NOTE:
Do not replace a refrigerant pipe, hose, or other A/C component if an o-ring seal will solve the leak incident, if it should occur.

2. If no damage is found to the joint metal surfaces, replace the O-ring seal.

CAUTION:
^ When replacing O-ring seals, use lint-free gloves,

^ Make sure no foreign material is introduced into the system when the joint is open.

^ Apply A/C oil to the O-ring before installation.

^ After recharging the system, recheck for leaks.
