DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.

NOTE:
If "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" has been previously performed, always turn ignition switch OFF.
Then wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
1.CHECK DTC DETECTION
With CONSULT-III

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Select "DATA MONITOR".
  3. Start engine.
  4. Drive vehicle and maintain the following conditions for at least 2 consecutive seconds.

VEHICLE SPEED More than 10 km/h (6 MPH)
ENG SPEED : More than 450 rpm
ACC PEDAL OPEN : More than 1.0/8

With GST
Follow the procedure "With CONSULT-III".
Is "P0705 PNP SW/CIRC" detected?
YES >> Go to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO >> Check intermittent incident. Refer to See: Testing and Inspection\Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Service Information For Electrical Incident\Intermittent Incident.

Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK CVT POSITION

  1. Disconnect CVT unit harness connector.
  2. Remove control cable from manual lever. Refer to See: Transmission and Drivetrain\Continuously Variable Transmission/Transaxle\Shift Linkage\Service and Repair\CVT RE0F09B\Exploded View.
  3. Check PNP switch. Refer to Component Inspection. Is the Inspection result normal?

YES >> Adjust CVT position. Refer to See: Transmission and Drivetrain\Continuously Variable Transmission/Transaxle\Shifter CVT\Adjustments\CVT RE0F09B.
NO >> GO TO 2.

  1. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TCM AND PNP SWITCH (PART 1)

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect TCM harness connector.
  3. Check continuity between TCM harness connector F16 (A) terminal 1, 2, 3, 4, 11 and CVT unit harness connector F46 (B) terminal 5, 14, 15, 18, 4.

Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

  1. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TCM AND PNP SWITCH (PART 2)

Check continuity between TCM harness connector F16 terminal 1, 2, 3, 4, 11 and ground.

Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 4.
NO >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
4.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEMS
Check TCM connector pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace the TCM. Refer to See: Powertrain Management\Transmission Control Systems\Control Module, CVT\Service and Repair\CVT RE0F09B\Exploded View.
NO >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

Component Inspection
1.CHECK PNP SWITCH

Check the continuity of the PNP switch by changing selector lever to various positions and checking continuity between CVT unit terminals and ground.

Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Inspection END
NO >> Replace transaxle assembly. Refer to See: Transmission and Drivetrain\Continuously Variable Transmission/Transaxle\Service and Repair\CVT RE0F09B\Transaxle Assembly\Exploded View.
