Why are my images and diagrams not printing clearly? The problem is probably in the browser. If you are using Netscape Navigator 4.05 or earlier, images and diagrams may not print clearly. You can correct this problem if you download the newest version of Netscape.
What kind of information will I find in ALLDATADIY? You will find repair information on your engine, drivetrain, electrical systems, and some body components. Details for full body repair are not covered.
Can you give me repair advice over the phone? We do not provide diagnostic assistance. Please view ALLDATADIY for diagnostic steps and procedures.
What system requirements are there to use ALLDATADIY? We recommend that you use a computer running the Windows 95/98 or Windows NT operating system.

We have tested successfully on Mac OS 8.6, but cannot guarantee that ALLDATADIY will work on all Macintosh operating systems. We also cannot guarantee that ALLDATADIY will work on Windows 3.1x or Linux systems. If you are using an older Mac OS, Windows 3.1x or Linux, we recommend you log on as a Guest to see how well your computer performs before purchasing a subscription.
Why isn't the Notes feature working? You are probably using Internet Explorer 3, which does not support this feature. You can correct this problem if you download and use a newer browser version.
When I add or change notes, they don't always display correctly. What is wrong? If you are using Internet Explorer 5, this is probably caused by a browser setting. Try the following to correct this:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options....
  2. On the General tab, click the Settings... button.
  3. Under the text Check for newer versions of stored pages, select Every visit to the page.
  4. Click the OK button.
Why should I upgrade my browser? There are some features that use JavaScript and require a newer browser. We recommend you always use the most current browser version available. The minimum browser requirements are listed below:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
  • Netscape Communicator 4.0 or later
How do I determine which browser version I am using? Select Help from your browser menu, then Click on:
  • About Internet Explorer, or
  • About Communicator, or
  • About Netscape
Why do I keep getting the security message? It might be a function of your browser. Don't worry, ALLDATA content is always secure.
Why am I having trouble accessing ALLDATADIY? We are sorry for any inconvenience. There may have been server, Internet router, or ISP problems when you tried accessing ALLDATADIY. Please try again.
Do I have to pay my bill with a credit card? At this time we only accept payment by credit card. For your protection, ALLDATADIY is a secure web site. Accepted credit cards are Visa, Master Card and American Express.
When do I supply my credit card information to ALLDATADIY? You supply your credit card information after you have registered, reviewed and accepted our subscription plan, and selected a vehicle. We have a standard price of $24.95 for new subscriptions and a discount price of $14.95 for current subscribers who wish to renew or add another vehicle.
How do I register as a new customer?
  1. Go to the ALLDATADIY home page (www.alldatadiy.com).
  2. Click BUY NOW.

Result : The Purchase a Subscription page displays.

  1. Press the Select Vehicle button .

  2. Select Year, Make, Model and Engine, YMME, of the Vehicle (Four step process).

                    Result : The YMME of the vehicle you selected displays.

  1. Click the Continue button.

Result : The Customer Registration  page appears.

  1. Enter your password and  billing information then press the Submit button.

Result : The Credit Card information page appears.

  1. Select credit card, provide billing information, then press the Submit button.

Result : Your new account information displays.

  1. Click the Finish button to access your vehicle subscription information.

Can I sample vehicle data before  subscribing ? Yes. By clicking the DEMO button on the ALLDATADIY home page you will have access to sample data for one vehicle. If you decide to purchase a subscription after sampling click on the BUY NOW button in the toolbar and follow  instructions 2 through 8 above.
How do I renew my subscription?

Before your subscription expires you will either receive  a Pop-up screen reminder  or an E-mail notification. The pop-up reminder appears after you log on as a member. The pop-up and e-mail will include a Renew Now button and a URL respectively, from where you can initiate the renewal process.

You can also complete the renewal process from any location within ALLDATADIY, by clicking ACCOUNT on the toolbar, then selecting Display/Renew Subscriptions .

Can I purchase a subscription for someone else? Yes, we have a gift certificate program that allows  subscribers or customers to purchase one or more subscriptions as eGift Certificates and transfer them to other people via  e-mail or as printed gift certificates. Gift certificates can be purchased from the ALLDATADIY.com or ALLDATA.com homepages.
What do I do if I forget my password?
  1. From the home page, click Forget Password?
  2. Enter your Login Name, Phone Number, and E-mail address.
  3. Click the Submit button.
  4. We will send your password to you in an e-mail, which you should receive from us within a few minutes of your request.
What do I do if I forget my log on name?
  1. From the home page, click Forget Password? 
  2. Click the e-mail link in the Search for Password screen.
  3. Enter the following in the e-mail screen:
    • User's e-mail address.
    • User phone number or fax number, address and credit card number.
    • A description of the problem.
    • Any other identifying information to help locate the account.
    • Click the Submit button.
  4. We will send your login information to you through e-mail, during our regular Customer Service hours. Customer Service hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Pacific Time.
Do I need a new subscription each time I want to see information for a different vehicle? Yes, at this time we only provide vehicle information for 1 vehicle per subscription. You will need to purchase a separate subscription for each vehicle.
I am having trouble locating specific system or component information. How can I understand what I'm looking for and where to find it? You can search for specific vehicle systems and components using one of the following methods:
  • Component Search: Searches for the closest match to the word(s) you enter at the Search prompt.
  • HELP Access: Click on the HELP Access button to locate specific information.
  • HELP Access Links: Choosing a link on a help page narrows the topic search.

Example:  After selecting a vehicle, a page appears listing the available information for that vehicle. Click Engine to bring up a page of engine components. Within that page you can click Oil Pan, and when the oil pan page appears you can click another link. Do this until you've located the information you need.

What model years are covered in ALLDATADIY? At this time we cover model years from 1982 to 2000. We update information quarterly and release new model years as the information is compiled.
How can I find information on Recall notices and/or Technical Services Bulletins? We have a Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins section that offers up-to-date  factory fixes  for difficult to diagnose problems, and information from automobile manufacturers about car defects. This section can be accessed from the home page by clicking on the link to: Recalls and TSB titles.
What if I can't find information? If you've used the appropriate search methods and still have trouble finding information, we probably don't have the requested information in ALLDATADIY. Even so, you might want to contact us through e-mail to make sure you are searching for information correctly.
Why can't I find information on my foreign vehicle? ALLDATADIY only provides information on foreign and domestic vehicles that are produced for the USA market.
Why can't I find information on Honda and Acura? American Honda Motor Company has requested ALLDATA to deny access to Acura and Honda repair information for U.S. and Canada consumers.

Why can't I find information on my BMW? We are sorry, but ALLDATADIY does not support BMW vehicles.
Do you take suggestions for improving ALLDATADIY? Always! We constantly review suggestions from our customers to try and find ways to improve our products. Please feel free to e-mail your comments to us. Click the Account Setup button, then select the E-Mail Customer Service link to access the e-mail form.
Is ALLDATADIY information available on CD or DVD?

Currently, ALLDATADIY is only available via the Internet and is not available on CD or DVD.
