91 Plymouth Voyager, Anti-Lock Warning!
Q:
How do you get the trouble code for the ABS for a ‘91 Plymouth Voyager? Sometimes the light comes on while driving, but it will reset when the engine is shut off and restarted. Also, do I have to drop the fuel tank to get to the fuel sending unit or is there an access hole anywhere on this same car (the low fuel warning & fuel gauge read empty even after fill up).

A: Get to the dealer ASAP! There are some major recalls on the anti-lock braking system on your vehicle. The ALLDATA Information System shows several safety related recalls and the NHTSA recently announced a major recall for anti-lock brake problems on many Chrysler vehicles including yours. Do not endanger yourself or loved ones trying to figure out why the warning light is coming on!

As for your fuel gauge problem the ALLDATA Information System shows Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) # 08-01-91 addressing the following symptom: With the fuel gauge indicating empty, it only takes 14 to 15 gallons to fill the tank. The tank may have 5 to 6 gallons still remaining when the gauge reads empty. This condition can also turn on the low fuel warning light.

The fix is a replacement Level Unit Assembly and there is no easy access port; the gas tank does have to be lowered to remove and install the assembly.
