'96 Plymouth Voyager, Dropped Dead
Q:
I was driving and suddenly
my 96 Plymouth Voyager completely quit, dropped dead without any
warning. It has 130k, it turns over but that is all. It has a 3.0-liter
V-6. What can it be?
- Rich B.
A:
A 96 Plymouth
Voyager with a 3.0-liter V-6 and 130k miles, Ill bet coffee that
either the timing belt has failed or the fuel pump has quit. The 3.0-liter
engine in your vehicle is a tough and durable unit. If it has been maintained
correctly, it still has a lot of miles left. At that vehicle age and mileage,
the most common failure we see in the shop is fuel pumps and timing belts.
