F-150, Wet Start & Wet Driving Breakdowns
Q: I have been researching
the problems with my vehicle and ran across your response to "no
wet start". I have the same problem on the same truck a 94
F-150. However, my problem is compounded in that my truck will stop running
in wet driving conditions, and even on rare occasions, when taking a hard
turn. Would this still be due to ignition problems, and if so, can these
ignition problems be fixed by replacing spark plug wires, distributor
cap?

A:
There is a good chance that if you correct the no start when wet problem
youll take care of the stalling when wet problem. In the shop we
use a water hose to locate the cause for the loss of spark when wet. The
reasoning for this is not just to prove the problem but to find the offending
component. After replacing the defective part we use the same procedure
to prove that the repair was affective.
