‘04 Ford F-150, Salvaged with Air Bags
Q:
I purchased a ‘04 Ford Heritage F150 w/salvage tile (no warranty). I replaced both airbags and both belt pretensioners but still have a blink code flashing 19. Ford wants $85 to tell me what this means. Any help would be much appreciated.

A:
The lamp fault code (LFC) #19 is for restraint control module (RCM) that has a full memory of crash data. The only fix for a RCM that has maxed out memory is to replace it with one that has room. There’s no disk clean-up or defragging of the RCM, it just gets recycled. Replace the RCM and you should have your air bag system back on line.
