Nissan 4x4 Pickup, Interior Icing
Q: I'm the owner of a
'95 Nissan 4x4 pickup. Moisture builds up on the inside of the window
year ground. In the spring, summer and fall, I must run the A/C at all
times to prevent the windows from fogging. In the winter, I actually have
to scrape the ice off from the inside! Do you have any idea what could
be causing this and how to correct it?...Christine
A: The
problem is, you're not getting enough fresh air in the vehicle. Check
your heater controls. There is either a lever or button that controls
how much outside air enters your vehicle via an air door. If the lever
or button is in the recirculate position, over time, excessive moisture
will build up inside the vehicle, resulting in interior window fogging
and/or ice buildup in the winter. If the selector is in the outside air
position I would question if it is working correctly. Have your technician
inspect the controls and the operation of the outside air door.
