BRAKE WARNING LAMP

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
Check that the brake warning lamp in the combination meter turns ON/OFF correctly when operating the parking brakes.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 2
NO >> Check parking brake switch. Refer to See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators\Testing and Inspection\Component Tests and General Diagnostics\Parking Brake Switch Signal Circuit\Diagnosis Procedure.
2.CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis. Refer to See: Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\VDC/TCS/ABS.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3
NO >> Check items displayed by self-diagnosis.
3.CHECK COMBINATION METER
Check if the indication and operation of combination meter are normal. Refer to See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators\Testing and Inspection\Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Work Flow.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to See: Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes\Service and Repair\VDC/TCS/ABS\Removal And Installation.
NO >> Repair or replace combination meter. Refer to See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators\Instrument Cluster / Carrier\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement.
