BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY : Disassembly
DISASSEMBLY
NOTE:
Do not remove the torque member, pads, multilayered shim, shim, shim cover, and pad retainers when disassembling and assembling the caliper.
- Place a wooden block in the caliper as shown, and blow air into the union bolt hole to remove the piston and piston boot.
CAUTION:
Do not get fingers caught between the piston and wooden block.
- Remove the piston seal from the caliper using a suitable tool. Discard the piston seal.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to damage a cylinder inner wall.
- Do not reuse the piston seal.
