BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER

Disassembly

CAUTION:
While working, cover the primary piston rod with a cloth to prevent it from being damaged.

1. Secure the flange on the master cylinder in vise as shown.

CAUTION:

• Using copper plates or cloth to cover the flange before securing it in the vise.
• When securing the master cylinder in the vise, do not to over tighten the vise.

2. Remove the pin securing the reservoir tank to the master cylinder, using suitable tool that is approximately 4 mm (016 in) in diameter.
3. Remove the reservoir tank and grommets from the master cylinder. Discard the grommets.

CAUTION:
Do not reuse the grommets.

4. Remove the master cylinder from the vise.
