Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the instrument lower cover (LH) and lower knee protector (LH). Refer to See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Dashboard / Instrument Panel\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
  2. Remove the console side finisher (LH). Refer to See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Dashboard / Instrument Panel\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
  3. Remove the accelerator pedal. Refer to See: Powertrain Management\Fuel Delivery and Air Induction\Accelerator Pedal\Service and Repair.
  4. Disconnect the stop lamp switch and ASCD cancel switch connector.
  5. Remove the stop lamp switch and ASCD cancel switch from the brake pedal assembly.
  6. Remove the snap pin and clevis pin to disconnect the brake booster clevis from the brake pedal assembly.

CAUTION:
Do not reuse the snap pin and clevis pin.

  1. Remove the brake booster clevis from the input rod.
  2. Disconnect the steering column assembly pinch bolt to position the steering column assembly aside. Refer to See: Steering and Suspension\Steering\Steering Column\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
  3. Remove the brake pedal assembly nuts.
  4. Remove the brake pedal assembly.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
Do not reuse the snap pin and clevis pin.
